Kiddie Kick Parents - The U5 Division (Kiddie Kick) will start in early September 2010 at Chancellors Run Recreational Park. The plan is to play once a week on a day TBD from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM. We start early the first session for some administrative things and jersey distribution.
All sessions will be in two parts
1. Skill development (appx 50 minutes)
2. Games 4 vs 4 or 5 vs 5 in a small field setting (appx 15 minutes)
Welcome to the St. Mary’s Youth Soccer U5 Division (Kiddie Kick). This program introduces our youngest players to the game of soccer. This division is a weekly soccer clinic held on dates/times TBD at Chancellor’s Run Regional Park starting in early September. All players are required to wear shin guards covered by socks, sneakers (or cleats if you have them), and the Kiddie Kick T-Shirt which you will receive before the first session begins. Also, bring a #3 soccer ball and water.
Each session we will run the players through various station drills that will teach them the fundamentals of the game: ball control, passing and receiving, shooting, teamwork. Each session will end with mini-games a on small field with small goals, usually 4 v 4 or 5 v 5. No goal keepers are used at this age.
Looking at the database, many of you signed up to help coach, which is great because we will need facilitators to help a group of assigned players through the various stations and then the mini-games. The first week is usually a little hectic, but things settle down once everyone understands the routine. The last couple of seasons have gone well and the kids had fun. All sessions will be held on a day TBD. The first session will run from 5:45 to 7:15PM. All remaining sessions will be from 6 to 7:15PM.

PLEASE REMEMBER that you CANNOT just drop your child off and leave; a responsible adult must be at the field for the entire session.
