1.  If you play of Field 1, 2 or 3 - please park in the lot in front of the fields.
2.  If you play on Fields 4, 5 or 6 - please park in the Hollywood Elementary School parking lot.
3.  DO NOT PARK ALONG THE STREET on Joy Chapel Road.  There are No Parking signs posted and you risk being ticketed.

]]> http://www.stmaryssoccer.org/home/462526.html CONCUSSION AWARENESS: Everybody's Business 04/12/2013 09:25 AM http://www.stmaryssoccer.org/home/552459.html Because of a new State law which went into effect on July 1, 2011, Recreation & Parks is instituting an awareness campaign to provide information about concussions for youth sport administrators, coaches, parents, and athletes.

The Recreation and Parks Advisory Board recently endorsed a concussion policy as an addendum to the Community Standards Guidelines. Article 6 of the revised Standards now requires that at least two (2) administrators from each volunteer league complete concussion awareness training through the Center for Disease Control (CDC) at http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/HeadsUp/Training/HeadsUpConcussion.html. The online course can be completed in 20-30 minutes. All administrators of Fall Leagues must complete the CDC course by August 31, 2011 and provide a copy of their certificate of completion to R&P by that date.
 
R&P is also requiring all youth sports organizations to provide information on their webpage pertaining to concussions. We have recently created a webpage on our website (see below) with links to the online training as well as fact sheets for parents, athletes, and coaches. It would be sufficient to provide a link to our webpage via your website.

Also, we highly encourage all coaches in your organization to complete the CDC Concussion Course to increase their knowledge of and sensitivity to the dangers of concussions. A concussion can have a long term health impact on a young athlete including loss of memory, diminished ability to learn, and even death.

St. Mary's Youth Soccer continues to sponsor a soccer shoe sale and donation program to benefit Special Olympics in St. Mary's County.  Used soccer cleats of all styles and sizes are offered for sale at $5 per pair.  However, the program relies on the donation of used shoes to make it work.  If you have any used soccer cleats, shin guards, or other equipment, please consider donating them to Special Olympics.  Sales and donation reception tables will be set up at the Hollywood Soccer Complex on game Saturdays through the first few weeks of the season.  For more information, or to make special arrangements for sales or donations, call Kyle Rambo at 301-373-5057.
