St. Marys Youth Soccer endorses and supports the following camps for the
upcoming summer season.  For the first time every, SMYS will sponsor our own camp!
This will support the SMYS effort of improviing our facilities and also help keep our
operating costs as low as possilbe.

While we endorse all the camps below, we only run the SMYS Summer Camp Series with
Coach Tony Galeano.  All other camps are administered by the organizations listed.  For
more information on those camps, please contact them directly.

HAVE FUN!  ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!

JUST ADDED! Summer Clinic Series
Geared towards the U5 to U7 player!

SUMMER INDOOR CLINIC SERIES (REGISTRATION ENDS JULY 4TH)

For the first time St. Mary’s Soccer will be offering a Summer Clinic Series for children U5, U6, or U7.  The Clinic will occur over 6 weekends.  You can attend all - or just the ones that fit into your vacation plans.

Size of the class is limited to 25 players in the appropriate age group only.

The Summer Indoor Clinic Series is designed to help younger players improve technical skills .  Each 50-minutes session will emphasize:

  • First touch and dribbling
  • Striking the ball
  • Introduction to passing and shooting

Summer Clinic Coaching Philosophy

  1. Developmentally Appropriate.  Utilizing Mosston’s Slanty Line Theory, we challenge each individual player in ways that benefit their own ability.
  2. Player Centered.  Tell me I forget…Show me I understand…Involve me I remember.
  3. Guided Discovery.  The art of asking meaningful questions to give the player the opportunity to learn problem solving.  By asking the players questions that they must come up with answers, we can ensure they are thinking instead of mindlessly following directions.

All Summer Clinics will be held @

22630 Gregory Dr, Leonardtown, Maryland 20650

Josh Crowder

Program Coordinator
U.S. Soccer Federation National Youth License

The National Youth License focuses upon the nature of children ages 4 to 12 and the adjustments adults must make to coach them.  In the course the role of the coach as a facilitator is explored; the physical, mental and emotional needs and capabilities of players from 4-12 are explored; the lessons from developmental psychology are explored; and the art of teaching is explored.

2. For your children to learn how to be comfortable with a soccer ball at their feet.
3. For your children to learn how to adjust to the speed of the ball.
4. For your children to interact socially with other children and adults in a sporting environment (social growth).
5. For your children to be more confident with a soccer ball when the clinic series comes to an end.
